Job description

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity as an Instrument and Control Technician to join our team! 

The successful candidate will install and maintain all steam billing metering, instruments, controls and associated equipment, including but not limited to condensate meters, shunt flow turbine meters, orifice plate meters and other types of primary element metering. You will also perform the installation and maintenance of signal loop circuits for indication and monitoring, pressure reducing stations, sample analyzers, steam valves, traps and associated piping. Assist customers with any problems related to steam usage in their facilities.

**This position is located at Citizens Energy Group at 366 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

Minimum Salary: $68,300 (Grade 8)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, test, install, modify, and calibrate steam meters, pressure reducing stations, sample analyzers, signal loops, and data recorders. Install new meter layouts.
  • Interact with the Billing Department on billing investigations and customer inquiries
  • Ensure and maintain a safe work environment (including meters at customer sites)
  • Ensure proper documentation for metering department, i.e., drawings, sketches, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, ISA CCST Certification or equivalent experience in the electronics field
  • A valid Indiana driver's license
  • Familiar with steam properties and test equipment necessary to measure steam flow, pressure and temperature, which include but are not limited to:

               a. Digital volt meters               b. Frequency counters               c. Resistance temperature devices               d. Current and voltage sources               e. Differential pressure testers and pressure testers               f. Able to work in hot and damp environments               g. Able to work in confined spaces               h. Work on live steam lines, up to 600 psig               i. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with differential pressure, pressure and temperature transmitters, valve and trap maintenance, pressure reducing valves, and sample analyzers
  • Previous power plant instrument and controls experience
