New hires can prepare by developing strong analytical skills, keeping current with IRS regulations, and building interpersonal communication abilities. Additionally, familiarizing themselves with IRS systems and seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues can help ease the transition and improve job performance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an IRS tax specialist?

To thrive as an IRS Tax Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations, and typically a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proficiency with tax preparation software, IRS systems, and familiarity with databases like IDRS and CAF are essential.
