JOB SUMMARY
The Special Events Guest Services Ambassador plays an essential role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for guests attending Town of Little Elm special events. This position primarily supports event registration and ticket booth operations by providing outstanding customer service, processing admissions, handling cash and electronic payments, issuing wristbands, answering guest questions, and assisting with event entry procedures.
Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact for many event attendees and are expected to represent the Town with professionalism, accuracy, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced event environment.

WORK SCHEDULE & EVENT OPPORTUNITIES
This position is event-based, with work opportunities primarily centered around Town-sponsored events and festivals. Anticipated shifts include the following events:

• February: Big Easy in Little Elm, a Mardi Gras inspired community celebration featuring live entertainment, food, and family activities.
• March: IRONMAN 70.3 Dallas-Little Elm, a large-scale endurance event welcoming athletes, volunteers, and spectators from across the region.
• April: Eggtastic, a family-focused spring celebration featuring activities and entertainment for children.
• June: Brew & Que, a major festival featuring barbecue, craft beverages, live music, vendors, and entertainment.
• June: Juneteenth, a community celebration featuring live entertainment, activities, food, and cultural programming.
• July: Red, White & Beach, Little Elm's signature Independence Day celebration featuring live entertainment, vendors, activities, and fireworks.
• September: Autumn Fest & Hispanic Heritage Celebration, a four-day fall festival with carnival rides, live entertainment, food, and vendors.
• October: Nightmare Over Little Elm, a Halloween-themed festival featuring entertainment, vendors, activities, and seasonal attractions.
• December: A Merry Little Elm Christmas, a holiday celebration featuring festive entertainment, activities, vendors, and family experiences.

Additional event dates and work opportunities may be added throughout the year based on the Town's event schedule and operational needs.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

1. Must be at least 16 years of age.
2. Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, recreation, or event operations is preferred but not required.
3. Previous cash handling experience is preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

1. Must be bondable.
2. Successfully complete all required Town training.

1. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, supervisors, and members of the public effectively.
2. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service during Town events.
2. Operate registration and ticket booths during assigned events.
3. Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of Town events, festivals, races, concerts, and community programs.
4. Staff activity areas, including children's games, crafts, inflatables, and interactive programming, while providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging experience for guests.
5. Assist with stage production, including artist hospitality, backstage operations, performer logistics, and production support for nationally and regionally recognized entertainers such as Hudson Westbrook, Vincent Mason, and other touring artists.
6. Support outdoor movie nights, concerts, festivals, and special events by assisting with guest services, vendor coordination, crowd management, and event operations.
7. Assist in the planning and execution of 5K, 10K, triathlon, and other endurance events by setting up race courses, staffing aid stations, directing participants, and supporting race operations.
8. Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and storing event equipment and supplies.
9. Perform general event-related duties as assigned to ensure successful execution of Town-sponsored events.
10. Process cash and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently.
11. Count, verify, secure, and reconcile assigned cash banks according to established procedures.
12. Operate ticket scanners, cash registers, tablets, and other equipment necessary for admissions and guest services.
13. Distribute wristbands, tickets, credentials, event information, and other materials to guests.
14. Assist guests by answering questions regarding schedules, parking, policies, amenities, activities, and event locations.
15. Direct guests through registration areas and event entry locations while maintaining efficient traffic flow.
16. Resolve routine guest concerns and escalate more complex issues to an Event Lead or supervisor.
17. Explain event rules, policies, and procedures to guests in a professional manner.
18. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
19. Restock supplies and materials needed for registration and ticket operations, including bottled water and guest service materials.
20. Attend required training sessions and pre-event meetings.
21. Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as assigned.
22. Responds to guest questions, concerns, and suggestions related to assigned event registration, admissions, and guest service areas and refers matters outside their responsibility to the assigned Event Lead or supervisor.
23. Works cooperatively with Town staff, event personnel, and assigned supervisors to support safe and efficient guest service operations.
24. Immediately report discrepancies or irregularities to the assigned Event Lead or supervisor.
25. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, sit, speak, hear, and use their hands to operate equipment. Employees must also be able to perform repetitive hand movements and maintain sufficient visual attention to count cash, verify transactions, scan tickets, and operate electronic equipment.
Employees may be required to stand for periods of up to eight hours while working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, and direct sunlight.
Employees must occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to twenty-five pounds, including cases of bottled water, registration materials, and event supplies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Work is performed primarily outdoors at Town special events and event venues. Employees may be exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, direct sunlight, large crowds, loud noise levels, uneven surfaces, and rapidly changing event conditions. Town events may continue during inclement weather unless canceled or modified by authorized event leadership.
