Position Summary

The Iron Worker provides support for new and existing work within The Shaw Group’s fabrication operations. This role is responsible for bolt-up assembly and installation of structural steel components in a fabrication facility environment. The ideal candidate will have experience reading drawings, fitting structural components, and safely working in both indoor and outdoor conditions while supporting high-quality fabrication activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Perform bolt-up assembly and structural steel installation
• Align, position, and fit structural components
• Inspect and receive materials
• Follow all safety and quality procedures
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of related iron working, structural steel, or fabrication experience preferred
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
• Strong mathematical and reasoning skills
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment associated with structural assembly work
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
