Electrical Assembler I (Coax)
SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, Coax Assembler I is responsible for performing simple cable assembly operations to build high-quality coax cables and wire harness products for the aerospace industry
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Build simple point-to-point coax cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Demonstrates proper use of basic hand tools: heat gun, hand crimpers, soldering, solder pot, ruler and other machines such as pinning machines and automatic wire strippers.
  • Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of coax assemblies.
  • Make sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials
  • Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

*Other duties as required in support of the department and the company*

The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • IPC Wire and Cable Fundamentals
    • Crimping Fundamentals
    • J-STD Soldering
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620B Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harnesses

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

JOB SKILLS
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics
  • Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure
  • Ability to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standards
  • Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this position's core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally.
