Job description

AMETEK Telular is seeking a Senior Industrial IoT (IIoT) Product Manager to define and deliver a compelling portfolio of connected products, services, and solutions for industrial and commercial markets. This role is responsible for developing a deep understanding of customer workflows, industry trends, and emerging technologies-and translating that insight into differentiated, scalable IoT solutions that deliver measurable business and operational value.

The ideal candidate combines strong product and program management discipline with handson technical fluency in Industrial IoT systems, including connected devices, edge intelligence, wireless communications, and cloudbased SaaS platforms. You will work crossfunctionally with engineering, operations, sales, and external partners to turn product vision into reality across the full solution lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Industrial IoT solutions roadmap across all phases of the product lifecycle, including ideation, market validation, business case development, product execution, launch, and gotomarket strategy.
  • Develop a deep, datadriven understanding of industrial customer needs, operational workflows, and pain points by conducting market research, customer interviews, and field analysis.
  • Define endtoend IoT solutions, spanning hardware, embedded firmware, connectivity, cloud platforms, analytics, and customerfacing applications.
  • Specify market and product requirements through highquality documentation (e.g., MRDs, PRDs), clearly translating Voice of the Customer feedback along with industrial use cases into technical and commercial requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional engineering teams to improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and profitability of existing solutions while developing nextgeneration IoT offerings.
  • Evaluate make/buy/partner decisions, technology tradeoffs, and architectural options across hardware, communications, and software platforms.
  • Conduct competitive, situational, and trend analysis across the Industrial IoT, telematics, and connected asset ecosystems.
  • Build and communicate clear value propositions and business cases, articulating ROI, operational impact, and customer benefits to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and customer enablement teams to ensure successful product launches, training materials, and customer adoption.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business (MBA or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline preferred).
  • 10+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record delivering hardwareenabled software or Industrial IoT solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IoT or telematics platforms, including a mix of devices, connectivity, and cloudbased SaaS services.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communications technologies, including cellular, satellite, and other wireless technologies.
  • Experience with IoT system architectures, including edge devices, sensors, data ingestion, device management, and cloud analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage hardware product lifecycles, including requirements definition, supplier coordination, certification, and launch.
  • Experience applying modern SaaS and Agile development practices in environments where hardware and software are tightly coupled.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to executive and Clevel audiences.
  • Strong business acumen, including experience building financial models, assessing opportunity costs, and negotiating with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in commercial IoT, industrial monitoring, telemetry, asset tracking, or connected infrastructure solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Candidate location preference in Herndon, VA and/or Mount Prospect, IL
