About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced DC power systems for critical infrastructure, including data centers, telecommunications, and renewable energy applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, expertise in DC power distribution, and a proven track record of delivering reliable, efficient, and scalable power solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Development: Lead the design of high-efficiency DC power systems, including rectifiers, inverters, battery backup systems, and power distribution units (PDUs) for mission-critical applications.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, NEC).
  • Project Management: Oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, from requirements gathering and system architecture to testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize DC power systems for energy efficiency, reliability, and scalability, integrating renewable energy sources where applicable.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex power system issues, ensuring minimal downtime for critical operations.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with suppliers to select and qualify power components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compatibility with system requirements.
  • Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in DC power systems, contributing to R&D initiatives and patent filings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in DC power systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven expertise in designing and deploying DC power systems for data centers, telecom, or renewable energy applications.
  • Proficiency in DC power system design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, PSpice).
  • Deep knowledge of power electronics, battery technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, VRLA), and energy storage systems.
  • Familiarity with control systems, SCADA, and BMS for power monitoring and management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: PE license or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Experience with high-voltage DC (HVDC) systems or microgrid integration.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar, wind) and their integration with DC power infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for power systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
