Role Summary

The Investment Director is a member of the Models Investment Team, combining direct responsibility for model portfolio design and development with client and market engagement.

The role contributes directly to the teamas investment process and multi-asset portfolio construction, while also working with clients to evaluate, select, and develop model portfolio solutions, including customized models tailored to specific client needs. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in one of the firmas fastest-growing and strategically important investment areas, with direct impact on a multibillion-dollar franchise.

The position sits at the intersection of investment management and client solution development. The Investment Director will bring investment expertise into client conversations, translate client objectives into portfolio solutions, and help shape the evolution of the teamas model offerings based on market and client needs.

The ideal candidate will bring multi-asset investment expertise, knowledge of the model portfolio channel, and the ability to translate market views and investment insights into scalable, client-oriented solutions. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, with the presence and credibility to engage effectively with external clients, distribution partners, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Investment & Portfolio Solutions:

  • Lead the early stages of custom model development by translating client objectives, investment preferences, constraints, and platform requirements into portfolio frameworks.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers to refine portfolio recommendations, prepare proposals, and present model solutions to clients and prospects.
  • Support the ongoing oversight, review, and evolution of custom model portfolios.
  • Contribute analysis and market perspective on strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation, and portfolio implementation discussions.
  • Bring client feedback, competitive intelligence, market developments, and implementation experience into the model design and management process.

Client & Market Engagement:

  • Advise clients on model portfolio construction, model selection, and implementation.
  • Represent the Models Investment Team in client meetings, due diligence reviews, portfolio reviews, new model launches.
  • Present at conferences, webinars and industry events.
  • Support the onboarding and activation of new model portfolio relationships.

Investment Communication & Thought Leadership:

  • Partner with investment, distribution, product, and marketing teams to develop content that supports the Models business.
  • Develop clear investment communications covering portfolio positioning, allocation changes, rebalances, trade activity, and the rationale behind investment decisions.
  • Develop custom investment content and presentations for client and prospect opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bacheloras degree required ANDA
  • 7+ years of relevant investment experience, with a focus on portfolio construction, multi-asset investing, model portfolios, or a related investment discipline.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (CFA, MBA, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, portfolio risk, asset allocation, investment products, and portfolio implementation.
  • Experience working with financial advisors, registered investment advisors, wealth management firms, platforms, or institutional clients.
  • Ability to understand complex client needs and translate them into practical portfolio solutions.
  • Clear and credible communicator who can explain markets, portfolio decisions, and investment concepts to both investment professionals and broader audiences.
  • Strong writing skills and experience developing investment commentary, presentations, or thought leadership.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$150,000.00-$225,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$150,000.00-$225,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$150,000.00-$225,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individualas relevant experience and skills for the role.A Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.A Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
