The Lab Management team is looking for an energetic individual to provide inventory support services to assist in supporting Ciena's engineering activities within the R&D product development labs.Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the lab stockrooms and maintaining accurate inventory control records
  • Use of our in-house inventory tracking system (GEMS) to record incoming deliveries, purchases, shipments, equipment loans and movement, and asset disposals as per defined processes
  • Co-ordinate Shipping of equipment and materials as requested including marshalling, scanning, packing, and filling out shipping paperwork in co-operation with the logistics team.
  • Receive delivered telecom equipment, supplies, and materials using the GEMS database.Confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition and model number.
  • Following generated reports, update inventory control databases with current information using hand-held barcode scanners
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory audits of Optical systems and lab equipment
  • Use of the Jira tracking system to monitor and complete all assigned jobs and requests
  • Maintains organization of the lab, stockroom, and receiving areas to ensure efficient and proper storage and handling of all equipment
  • Maintains labelling systems for all Lab equipment and locations.
  • Monitor and resolve all inventory noncompliance reports
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Pay Range:

The hourly pay range for this position is C$24.37/hr - C$30.89/hr.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
