Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our growing team and oversee daily field operations in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and field execution. You will be responsible for technician scheduling, fleet and equipment management, quality assurance, safety compliance, and direct customer communication. The ideal candidate has a strong background in service operations and direct-to-consumer sales, excels at managing personnel, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This leadership role requires active field presence to conduct safety audits, train personnel, and provide operational support to the crew when required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor a high-performing crew of Technicians. Conduct objective, documented performance reviews and continuous coaching to maintain top-tier service delivery.
  • Daily Workflow & Dispatch: Plan, optimize, and manage daily routes and technician schedules using dispatch software to minimize process lags and maximize territory efficiency across West Houston.
  • Quality Assurance & Customer Service: Act as a primary contact for property owners, commercial accounts, and strata managers. Conduct routine site inspections to ensure completed jobs meet strict Gorilla standards and promptly resolve service escalations.
  • Safety, Compliance & Risk Management: Enforce all company safety protocols and mandatory OSHA regulations. Deliver safety training including fall protection (roofs, ladders), high-pressure system safety, and chemical handling. Maintain accident documentation and implement heat-illness prevention plans.
  • Fleet & Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and inventory tracking of company trucks, pressure washers, vacuum systems, and job materials to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Financial & Metric Accountability: Track labor and material costs against active projects to protect profit margins. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as job profitability, quote capture rates, and customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Pricing & Quoting Oversight: Evaluate new residential and commercial property service inquiries. Review on-site dimensions, architectural challenges, and labor requirements to build accurate, profitable project estimates based on regional company pricing structures.
  • Proposal & RFP Management: Prepare, draft, and present competitive, professional quotes and bids for commercial clients, property managers, and strata boards. Participate in local Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to secure long-term service agreements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in operations management, field team leadership, or service manager role. Experience in property maintenance, landscaping, pressure washing, roofing, or pest control is highly valued. Sales experience is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing, motivating, and accountability tracking for hourly or field-based teams (10+ employees preferred).
  • Technical Aptitude: Mechanically inclined with an understanding of small engine equipment (pressure washers, pumps) or a demonstrated ability to master technical workflows quickly.
  • Communication & Tech Literacy: Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Proficiency with dispatching software, CRM platforms, and standard digital tools.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance underwriting standards are strictly required.

Essential Physical & Environmental Demands

  • Lifting & Moving: Ability to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver equipment or objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Heights & Agility: Ability to ascend/descend ladders, work safely at heights, and maintain balance on pitched roofs or elevated platforms using required fall protection gear.
  • Environmental Exposure: Ability to perform physical inspections and work outdoors for extended periods, enduring exposure to varying Texas weather conditions, including extreme summer heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
  • Chemical Handling: Ability to safely handle, transport, and work in proximity to industrial cleaning solutions and chemicals used in pressure washing and soft washing, adhering strictly to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) protocols.
