Job description

Position Summary
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and distribution activities while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. This role will play a critical leadership position in designing, building, and implementing warehouse processes and systems from the ground up, including the implementation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, barcoding technologies, QR code systems, and inventory control processes. The successful candidate will help transform a newly established warehouse into a highly organized, efficient, scalable operation that supports the Company's continued growth in chemical manufacturing and distribution.
This is a hands-on, working supervisor position. The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is expected to actively participate in daily warehouse operations while providing leadership and direction to the warehouse team. During warehouse startup, system implementation, staffing transitions, peak workloads, or operational demands, the incumbent will be expected to perform receiving, shipping, inventory control, material handling, cycle counting, system transactions, and other warehouse duties alongside team members. The successful candidate must be comfortable balancing strategic projects, leadership responsibilities, and day-to-day operational execution.
Qualifications
Education
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
* Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or distribution environment.
* Experience implementing or supporting WMS and ERP systems.
* Experience with warehouse startup, warehouse layout design, racking implementation, inventory control systems, and barcoding technologies strongly preferred.
* Experience working with chemicals, chemical storage requirements, and regulatory compliance preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and logistics.
* Working knowledge of ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
* Knowledge of barcode scanning, QR code systems, inventory control methodologies, and warehouse optimization practices.
* Strong leadership, coaching, project management, and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, HazCom, and chemical handling requirements.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to regularly lift, move, and transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and perform physical warehouse activities throughout the workday.
* Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment or obtain certification upon hire.
* Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
