Inventory Control Specialist - Columbia

Precision Pumping Systems has been a local and family-owned manufacturing business since 1972. To continue our growth, PPS is looking to increase our labor force to keep up with production demands from the sales of our increasingly popular motor control panels. We are searching for talented individuals to join our pump station assembly teams!

Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist receives all incoming inventory and handles all the stocking of material, manages inventory in production shop system, print job travelers, and pulls material for jobs. The Specialist also helps with shipping finished product to the customer. The position is self-directed and collaborative. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure our customers get the best products possible.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Verify and receive all incoming inventory
  • Route received materials to the correct department, work order, or service order.
  • Stock inventory and manage inventory accuracy in the Production Shop System
    (E2).
  • Print job travelers
  • Pull and verify the correct material for each job.
  • Serve as a primary count team member for all inventory audits.
  • Perform random sample counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Initiate process improvement to reduce material handling, improve material
    quality, grow inventory accuracy, and reduce material cost.
  • Reduce production downtime related to inventory.
  • Cross-train and learn other functions as needed.
  • Package and ship products through the UPS shipping system.
  • Work independently or with a team.
  • Utilize safe, quality practices. 

What We're Looking For:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Proactive communication skills and the ability to handle details with accuracy.
  • 2-3 years inventory experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Must be able to lift 70+ lbs. regularly.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience with production software preferred.
