Job description

Powersports Inventory Manager

Job Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of new and used powersports vehicle inventory, including motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft, and side-by-sides. This role ensures accurate inventory stocking, timely receiving of units, proper documentation, coordination with sales, service, and management of online unit photography and digital listings to maximize inventory turn and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new and used unit inventory
  • Receive and check in units, verifying VINs, models, colors, and options for accuracy
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the dealership management system (DMS)
  • Coordinate unit setup and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) with the service department
  • Ensure all titles, MSOs, and required documentation are properly received and filed
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Assist sales management with transfers, and availability

Online & Digital Inventory Management

  • Ensure all new and used units are professionally photographed in a timely manner
  • Manage and upload unit photos to dealership websites, third-party listing platforms, and manufacturer portals
  • Maintain photo quality standards, consistency, and accurate representation of each unit
  • Update online listings promptly to reflect sold, transferred, or newly received units
  • Coordinate photo scheduling with sales and marketing teams
  • Ensure online inventory data (pricing, specs, options, and availability) matches DMS records

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
  • Experience in inventory management, preferably within a powersports or automotive dealership
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and online listing platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of floorplan financing
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move and position units for photography, display, or delivery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods
