Leith Volkswagen of Cary has an outstanding opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist to join their team and the Holman Family!

Job Duties:

  • Conduct monthly physical verification of 100% of new inventory, pre-owned inventory, and loaner/rental vehicle inventory, compare physical inventory to the inventory listing in system to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure the presence of Monroney stickers on new vehicles, "As-Is" stickers on pre-owned vehicles, and barcodes on all inventory vehicles.
  • Follow up on reconciling vehicles with insufficient explanations for their whereabouts; investigate any discrepancies between physical inventory and accounting records, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Ensure each vehicle is cleaned and prepared for delivery/customer pickup as needed for Sales and Service Departments, ensuring vehicles meet dealership standards and customer expectations.
  • Use the dealership's inventory scan gun to scan the barcode on each vehicle on the lot and off-site locations. Verify VINs before scanning and note any discrepancies or missing stickers on a separate sheet for follow-up.
  • Download scan gun data into the Reynolds & Reynolds system. Import vehicle scan data and accounting inventory data into a reconciliation spreadsheet. Reconcile scanned vehicles with listed inventory, investigating discrepancies and recording findings.
  • Communicate with Sales Managers or Service Manager regarding job status and problem areas. Notify relevant departments when supplies are needed and delegate tasks to appropriate personnel, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

Education and/or Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, a degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred
  • Additional education, certifications, or experience are a plus
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
  • Familiarity with office technology and equipment, including computers, fax machines, scanners, printers, phone systems, etc.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2-4 years' experience in administrative services or related fields
  • Proficiency in using DMS platforms including Reynolds & Reynolds and CDK preferred
  • Proficiency in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department
  • Understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping software may be required
  • Reviewing and improving processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and security

Compensation: $22/hr
