Job description

Job Summary
Support the Director Inventory Controls with adding value to the Finance Department and the company as they drive excellence in the monthly inventory reconciliation process; and participation in other related projects and initiatives both recurring and ad hoc in nature. The Inventory Controls Analyst will accomplish their mission by understanding, adhering to, and enforcing inventory reconciliation policies, processes, controls, and procedures utilizing existing and new inventory analysis tools. Furthermore, the Analyst will accomplish their mission by coordinating their activities with key members of NAPA Finance and Supply Chain involved in related inventory reconciliation activities, and other IT and Data/BI analysts.

  • Internal Controls - Perform responsibilities with integrity

Responsibilities
  • Create inventory reconciliation events as needed to meet control requirements and established business practices.
  • Execute the review and reconciliation of the physical inventory records and inventory ledger on a monthly schedule, and additionally as needed.
  • Complete data review for reasonableness.
  • Identify data trends for changes in business activity impacting inventory.
  • Review inventory investment for non-contributing inventory.
  • Collect and enter in-transit data for compilation.
  • Compile inventory reconciliation results and investigate any material variance between the ledger and physical inventory.
  • Validate the accuracy of results.
  • Summarize analysis of review and results investigation into actionable items for the business.
  • Detail specific inventory or ledger items that need to be addressed or reviewed by the business.
  • Routinely communicate reconciliation results to key NAPA Finance and Supply Chain partners.
  • Identify locations with results outside of variance thresholds and report out to NAPA Finance and Supply Chain leaders.
  • Meet with the local business to review the reconciliation results and recap recommendations on areas the business can develop action plans to mitigate shrink or improve process related to inventory.
  • Review the trends in the analytics for year to date and month over month to demonstrate the directional impact to the business.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics with a concentration in Finance preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with business analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft PowerBI and Excel Power Query, PowerPivot.
  • Strong verbal skills and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics to a variety of experience level.
  • Team player; demonstrate success working well with department leaders and peers.
  • Must be able to understand, explain, and solve complex problems.
  • Must be technologically astute at learning new business technologies.
  • Strong detail orientation and organization.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task, prioritize, and work well under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of JDE preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Query and data modeling a preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus.

Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Work is performed in a hybrid environment with some remote work established for all members of the NAPA Finance Department.
  • Available to work flexible work schedules and hours to meet business deadlines, in support of large-scale impacts from major project implementations, business incidents and disasters.
  • Business travel is not anticipated for this role.
