The Landfill Maintenance Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities for landfill equipment, including tracking maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and expenses. This position will involve using computer software to manage records, ordering specialty parts, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of required parts and materials.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Enters and updates maintenance records for all landfill equipment in the County's maintenance management software
Tracks and documents all scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring that records are accurate, complete, and accessible
Generates reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service history for management and compliance purposes
Maintains accurate inventory records of commonly used maintenance parts, tools, and supplies
Tracks and monitors parts usage to ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet the maintenance team's needs
Orders specialty parts, equipment, and materials as needed, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and minimizing downtime
Picks up parts from suppliers as needed, ensuring that all necessary components are available for scheduled repairs and maintenance
Maintains positive and professional communication with vendors, ensuring that parts and supplies are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner
Builds and maintains strong relationships with key suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and resolves any issues related to parts or service

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
Training and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and at least one year of experience in maintenance support, inventory control and/or vehicle title and registration processing; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license from state of residence
Notary Public Commission in the State of Florida or ability to obtain within 30 days following employment

Emergency Management Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require the following: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, finger and hand dexterity, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
