Heavy Forklift & Inventory Operator
Location: Mobile, Alabama
Pay Rate: $16-$18 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary
Genesis Staffing is seeking an experienced Heavy Forklift & Inventory Operator to support warehouse operations.
Successful candidates must have experience operating both small and large forklifts, along with a well-rounded background in inventory counting, inventory control, loss prevention, and related warehouse functions.
A significant portion of the workday may include operating large-capacity forklifts to move heavy pallets. This position also requires accurate inventory counting, documentation, computer data entry, and coordination with warehouse and loading dock personnel.
Candidates must have strong forklift skills and be comfortable maneuvering large loads safely in a busy industrial warehouse environment. Strong math and computer skills are also required.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate large-capacity forklifts to load, unload, stage, and relocate heavy loads and pallets.
  • Move loads from receiving areas to designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Perform accurate physical inventory counts of incoming, stored, and outgoing materials.
  • Verify quantities against shipping documents, manifests, bills of lading, and inventory records.
  • Enter inventory counts, locations, movements, and shipment information into computer systems.
  • Track materials throughout the warehouse and assist with resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for visible damage, shortages, or incorrect quantities.
  • Label, organize, and maintain designated warehouse storage areas.
  • Complete daily forklift inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Communicate with supervisors, loading dock personnel, truck drivers, and warehouse employees regarding shipment arrival, movement, and departure.
  • Follow all company, OSHA, and warehouse safety procedures.
  • Perform additional warehouse and inventory-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of recent forklift operating experience.
  • Demonstrated experience operating large or heavy-capacity forklifts.
  • Experience moving oversized, heavy, or difficult-to-handle materials strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of inventory counting, inventory control, shipping, receiving, or warehouse documentation experience.
  • Ability to accurately count large quantities of materials and maintain detailed records.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory tracking systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Current TWIC card required.
  • Reliable personal transportation required.
  • Must maintain active automobile insurance on personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, trucks, and warehouse traffic.
  • Ability to work independently and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to repeatedly climb on and off forklift equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, stand, and work throughout a large warehouse facility.
  • Ability to work around dust, lumber, moving equipment, noise, and changing temperatures.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in warehouse conditions.
  • Must be comfortable working near heavy industrial equipment.
