Summary
The Production Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate movement, tracking, and reconciliation of inventory to support daily production operations. This position coordinates the delivery of raw materials and products to production lines, maintains inventory accuracy through transaction processing in AS400, and collaborates with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure operational efficiency. The role plays a critical part in inventory control, product rotation, food safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Retrieve and transport products from coolers and storage areas to production lines to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet production schedules.
  • Accurately reconcile inventory and production transactions within the AS400 system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain awareness of product age to support proper inventory rotation and minimize waste.
  • Conduct daily supply and inventory verifications, identifying and communicating shortages, discrepancies, or concerns to management.
  • Perform inventory-related transactions in AS400 accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, production usage, adjustments, and related transactions.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Warehouse, and Quality departments to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient workflow.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through physical verification and system research.
  • Support production operations by ensuring materials are available when needed and inventory records remain accurate.
  • Follow all company policies related to food safety, quality assurance, GMPs, sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory management processes, operational efficiency, and cost control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, production support, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience using inventory management systems, ERP software, or AS400 preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles and inventory reconciliation practices.
