Summary
Celestica is seeking a data-driven Inventory Analyst to support and execute inventory control functions for the business unit. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of foundational experience in inventory management, data analysis, and material movement within a manufacturing or logistics environment. This role is crucial for tracking inventory accuracy, supporting the management of non-working stock, and assisting in the reconciliation process for materials used in complex assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Inventory Tracking & Reporting: Tracks inventory issues and assists team members in understanding and resolving issues. Coordinates, controls and reports on the physical flow and system status of inventory for the business unit.
  • Material Plan Execution Support: Executes assigned tasks related to inventory control to support the overall material plan and help achieve target levels.
  • Data Integrity: Executes routine audits to verify data accuracy within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Surplus Control & Support: Controls and monitors surplus inventory by maintaining accurate system records and physical segregation. Supports physical inventory count process and assists in implementing action plans to reduce non-working stock.
  • Financial Reconciliation Support: Collects and organizes data used by the senior team to balance inventory results with financial records.
  • Reporting: Assists the senior analyst in producing weekly reports to forecast and track inventory metrics.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of direct experience in an Inventory Control, Materials Analyst, or cycle counting role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of material flow and inventory management in a high-tech or electronics assembly environment. Experience tracking complex parts lists is a plus.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for transaction processing and data lookups. Intermediate proficiency in Excel for data organization and basic analysis.
  • Solid understanding of cycle counting methodologies, inventory reconciliation processes, and basic warehouse management principles.
  • High attention to detail, analytical, and excellent communication skills for resolving discrepancies with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
