Job description

Avalon International Aluminum is searching for a driven CAD Drafter looking for an opportunity to break into the field. We are searching for an individual with not only design ability but also someone that has experience building “Production Documents” (PD). This position will require the Drafter to split their time 50/50 between designing and producing “Production Documents” (PD).

Requirements

  • Be able to read and interpret project specifications, floorplans, blueprints, and schedules.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software (Primary AutoCAD and secondary Inventor) to create shop files and drawings to aid in estimating and fabrication.
  • Prepare work for fabrication on behalf of customers using AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, Inventor and Excel.
  • Ability to generate a Bill of Materials and produce production documents for fabrication.
  • Ensure timely output of drawings for customer review and approval.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing projects for quality.
  • Use software tools to streamline and improve existing processes.
  • Work in a team atmosphere with Fabrication, Purchasing, and Shipping to satisfy our customers and provide solutions to their problems.
  • Comfortable converting fractions and basic algebraic functions.
  • Assist with new product development activities.

Personal Qualifications: **

  • Drafting technology knowledge with a proficiency in AutoCAD
  • CNC experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Access
