Job description

Position Summary

IPG Photonics is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise infrastructure within a complex global manufacturing and defense-focused environment. This hands-on role is responsible for the design, deployment, administration, security, and ongoing support of critical infrastructure platforms, including virtualization, Microsoft technologies, identity management, and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise Nutanix and VMware environments.
  • Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and related services.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Manage identity, access controls, MFA, and Single Sign-On solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise infrastructure supporting production workloads.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation, patch management, disaster recovery, and resiliency initiatives.
  • Ensure infrastructure environments comply with ITAR requirements and security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Systems Administration or Infrastructure Administration experience within enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience administering Nutanix and/or VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Strong administration experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • PowerShell scripting experience for systems automation and administration.
  • Experience supporting backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resiliency planning.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Hands-on experience working within ITAR-regulated environments with responsibility for maintaining compliance requirements, managing controlled-system access, and supporting the secure handling of export-controlled data.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ITAR restrictions, export-controlled information requirements, access controls, user eligibility requirements, system segregation, and the impact of regulatory compliance on infrastructure administration and cloud technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nutanix certification and advanced Nutanix administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Hyper-V, AWS, and/or Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Recovery.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with SCCM, PKI, Citrix, MDM platforms, and engineering application environments.

Compliance Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in compliance with U.S. export control and ITAR regulations.
  • Must be able to access export-controlled information as required by the position.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Systems Administration or Infrastructure Administration experience within enterprise environments.
