Job Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Profession: Radiologic Technology

Experience: 1 year as an Interventional Vascular Specialist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist
License: Required
Certifications: Registered as ARRT-R (with VI or CV credential) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
Must-Have:
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic or cardiovascular technology
- Intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting
- Ability to assist in advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, FEVAR
- Capability to assist with complex procedures, including multiple wire exchanges and use of long wires and OTW balloons
- Proficient in using specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari, and shockwave
- Ability to circulate, monitor, and scrub all Interventional Vascular procedures
- Skills to troubleshoot imaging equipment collaborating with biomedical engineers for service
- Participation in procedural charging and supply management
- Ability to act quickly under emergency situations
- Capacity to discuss plans of action with physicians and assist with high-risk procedures
- Willingness to cross-train as needed to support departmental needs
- Understanding of working with x-ray systems, including panning tables and recognizing different angles
- Management of access sites, including proper removal of sheath and assessment of hematoma
- Knowledge of hematoma management
- Understanding of concepts of radiation safety
- Knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions
- Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedures
- Compliance with sterile techniques
- Effective communication with team members, patients, families, and medical staff
