Position Summary
The Sales & Marketing Support Specialist plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by supporting both field sales personnel and internal stakeholders. This position serves as a central link between sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing—ensuring leads are effectively managed, opportunities are advanced, and customer needs are translated into actionable solutions.
This individual will proactively follow up on marketing- and field-generated leads, assist in developing territory sales plans, manage customer interactions, and coordinate internally to ensure timely, accurate responses to customer requirements. The role also includes inside sales responsibilities, including online engagement and phone-based selling.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support & Lead Management
- Qualify and follow up on inbound and outbound leads generated through marketing campaigns and field sales efforts
- Conduct online outreach and phone-based sales calls to engage prospects and customers
- Maintain and update CRM system with accurate and timely information on leads, opportunities, and customer interactions
- Partner with field sales representatives to advance opportunities through the sales pipeline
- Re-engage dormant accounts and identify new business opportunities
Territory Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with sales leadership and field representatives to develop and execute territory sales plans
- Analyze territory performance, identify gaps, and recommend targeted actions to drive growth
- Support account planning, including customer segmentation and opportunity prioritization
Customer Engagement
- Handle inbound sales inquiries and provide product/service information
- Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and follow-up communications
- Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for customers
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Interface with manufacturing teams to align customer requirements with technical capabilities and production timelines
- Coordinate internally to ensure accurate pricing, feasibility, and delivery expectations
- Communicate customer feedback and market insights to internal teams
Marketing Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing to support campaigns, promotions, and lead generation initiatives
- Provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness
- Assist in the development of sales tools, collateral, and messaging
Performance Management & Reporting
- Partner with ownership to establish, track, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and marketing effectiveness
- Monitor KPIs on a monthly and quarterly basis, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Prepare and deliver regular performance reports, including pipeline health, conversion metrics, and territory performance
- Recommend data-driven actions to improve sales outcomes and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required
Experience
- 3–7+ years of experience in sales, inside sales, sales support, or a related commercial role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience supporting technical products or engineered solutions preferred
- Demonstrated success in phone-based and/or online sales engagement

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive tasks to completion
- Analytical mindset with experience in territory planning and KPI tracking
- Proficiency in CRM systems and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel capabilities
- Ability to generate, analyze, and present sales data through spreadsheets and reporting tools
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to translate customer needs into actionable internal requirements
