POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is seeking a qualified CART Interpreter to join our team. As a Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) Interpreter, you will provide real-time transcription services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equal access to spoken communication in various settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver accurate and timely CART services in educational, professional, and public setting environments.
  • Employ specialized CART equipment and software to transcribe spoken words into text in real time.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism during all interpretation sessions.
  • Continuously refine transcription skills and knowledge of various subject matters to effectively serve clients.
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals to customize CART services based on specific needs and preferences.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong fluency in English, with excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience and proficiency with CART software and technology.
  • Knowledge of deaf culture and effective communication strategies for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
