QUALIFICATIONS
a.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Required:
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of correct English and Spanish spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary.
3. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to translate written documents from English to Spanish; interpret oral conversation from English to Spanish and Spanish to English; perform keyboarding; carry out oral and written instructions; perform routine clerical work; work calmly and accurately underย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  pressure and with frequent interruptions; establish and maintain effective relationships.
4. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Possess valid California driver license.
b.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Desirable:
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience in translation and interpretation from English to Spanish; experience as clerk or office worker.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of current office practices and procedures, including microcomputers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Translate written material from English to Spanish including but not limited to district forms, brochures, school handbooks, forms and letters, curriculum outcomes, materials and assessments.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Type translated materials in a manner suitable for reproduction and mailing.
3. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform oral interpretation at functions such as IEP meetings, suspension/expulsion meetings, board meetings, etc., and over the telephone.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to see and read, with or without vision aids.
3. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
4. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
