Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives! A dynamic educational setting is seeking three dedicated Sign Language Interpreters for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers a chance to support students across multiple locations in a collaborative and inclusive environment, providing critical communication access throughout the academic year.

Role requirements:

  • Hold a valid 3.5+ EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational or school-based environment preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and school staff to facilitate clear communication.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of school communities.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure that instructional material is accessible to all students.
  • Adapt interpreting style to accommodate different communication modes and student learning styles.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards as outlined in RID and educational interpreting guidelines.
