What is a Maintenance Manager?

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment and facility systems. This role leads maintenance teams, manages preventative and corrective maintenance programs, and works closely with Production and Engineering to minimize downtime. The position plays a critical role in improving equipment reliability, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring safe plant operations.

What You Can Expect to Do as a Maintenance Manager:

  • Lead and manage maintenance teams across the facility
  • Develop and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of equipment issues
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime
  • Manage maintenance budgets, resources, and spare parts inventory
  • Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance performance
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and EHS teams to support plant operations

What We Are Looking For in a Maintenance Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 7–10+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing plant equipment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and maintenance practices
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
