Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: Working HoursOffice hours range from 8am to 5pm. Work schedules may vary and will include occasional evening hours to support program activities. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.Working ConditionsOccasional travel between college campuses and off-campus locations is required. In-state and occasional out-of-state travel may be required. The successful candidate may be assigned to any College location and will primarily support APEX Accelerator services throughout Macomb County or other assigned service areas as determined by the Program Director.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the government contracting marketplace, tools, resources, and systems used by businesses to pursue government contracts. Effective communication, marketing, and public relations skills. Demonstrated experience in event planning, project coordination, and organizational management. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with clients, stakeholders, and community resource representatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, social media platforms, database systems, and marketing tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
Supervision: Supervision ReceivedReports directly to the Program Director, Macomb Regional APEX Accelerator.
Job Function
Support the mission of the Macomb Regional APEX Accelerator by assisting businesses interested in federal, state, and local government contracting. This position is funded through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of War (DoW) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Program Director.
  • Coordinate and manage the departmental calendar and proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor and manage the APEX Accelerator general email inbox and phone line in the absence of the Operations Coordinator.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to meet or exceed federal and state performance goals and program objectives.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and execute training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other program-related events.
  • Coordinate meetings and events with federal, state, and local government representatives and resource partners
  • Create, maintain track training and event records within Neo Serra Outreach System database, and assist with event registration and reporting requirements for federal and state stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in marketing, educational outreach, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that promote the APEX Accelerator and its services.
  • Support volunteer committees, task forces, and strategic initiatives that contribute to the growth and success of the APEX Accelerator program.
  • Compile, analyze, and distribute program information, statistics, and other communications materials.
  • Develop and design training materials, client newsletters, surveys, presentations, promotional materials, and other program documents in both electronic and printed formats, collaborating with internal college departments as needed.
  • Create, schedule, and manage marketing campaigns that promote training opportunities, events, resources, and government contracting programs.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain engaging content across social media platforms (LinkedIn) to increase program visibility, stakeholder engagement, and community awareness.
  • Maintain, organize, and oversee communications and event-related documents and files within the APEX shared drive, ensuring information is accurate, current, and readily accessible to authorized team members. Manage file retention and disposition in compliance with applicable federal and state requirements, regulations, and recordkeeping standards.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance communication, marketing, event planning, and government contracting knowledge and skills.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on government contracting processes to businesses and individuals pursuing opportunities with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and leadership support to staff as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Participate in the Michigan Alliance of APEX Accelerators (MAAA) through training programs, meetings, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education
Associate degree from an accredited institution required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications
