Internships In Counseling Jobs in Tennessee (NOW HIRING)

POSITION
The College of Education and the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and
Research seeks a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty member for the School Counseling
program beginning August 1, 2026. The School Counseling program is CACREP and CAEP
accredited and emphasizes evidence-based practice promoting college and career readiness, datadriven
programming, and interventions for students' academic achievement and social/emotional
well-being. The position requires a balance of teaching, service, and clinical responsibilities.
Teaching includes instructing graduate courses, advising/mentoring students, and serving on
doctoral committees. Service includes participating in national professional organizations,
university, and college committees, and serving the local community. Clinical responsibilities
include providing practicum and internship supervision and assisting with field placements. The
employed candidate will primarily teach courses within the School Counseling program but may
also teach courses in the department's other CACREP accredited counseling programs. Our
CACREP programs are accredited for in-person delivery; therefore, this is not a remote position.
The code number is 10413. The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and
Research and the College of Education are not currently offering any sponsorships for this
position.

SALARY & BEGINNING DATE
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The University offers an

nine-month appointment with the possibility of summer teaching. The anticipated date of
appointment is August 1, 2026.

Required
Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervisor from a CACREP accredited
program or meet one of the alternative qualifications according to CACREP standards
Licensed or license-eligible as a PK-12 school counselor in Tennessee
Minimum of five years of employment as a school counselor
Graduate level teaching experience
Strong knowledge of the ASCA National Model
Experience in providing clinical supervision
Desired
Experience teaching classes either in-person, online, and/or hybridized environments in a
CACREP accredited or CACREP aligned program
Knowledge and experience of continuous program evaluation and experience with
CACREP and/or NCATE/CAEP
Evidence of federally funded grant awards or participation in federally funded projects
Teaching/clinical experience in one of the following areas: youth with disabilities,
behavioral disorders, suicidal ideation, or those who have experienced trauma

Evidence of potential ability in instruction, service, and research. Professional comportment consistent with the Faculty Code of Conduct.
