Job description

Are you a college student passionate about broadcast production, video editing, or digital animation? As the Video Production & ThunderVision Intern, you will work alongside a team of creative professionals, learning about filming, editing, and live production. This internship is designed to help students build their skills and prepare for future careers in sports, media, or entertainment.

The Fall internship program runs from August 24th, 2026, through December 4th, 2026. Interns will have access to professional development workshops, networking opportunities, resume reviews, and other activities designed to enrich their experience. Program perks include paid downtown parking and tickets to a Thunder home game during the season!

In this role you will:

  • Organize and maintain digital archives, including logging camera shots from in-arena show, cutting proof-of-play clips from game recordings, and creating melts from game videographer footage

  • Edit pre-designed templates to build high-quality content

  • Assist in assembling back drops and lighting equipment for video shoots

  • Learn proper camera techniques using DSLR and broadcast cameras

  • Develop editing skills through color correction, strategic shot selection, and pacing

  • Shadow ThunderVision personnel during select home games

  • Perform occasional office and administrative responsibilities as needed

  • Participate in company-scheduled internship program activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive course credit for the internship

  • Students pursuing degrees in broadcasting, video production, marketing or motion graphics are preferred

  • Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to adapt content across multiple platforms, including print, web, audio and video

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

  • Some experience with Sony, Canon, and Panasonic cameras is preferred but not required

  • Familiarity with Avid, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred

  • Knowledge of control room equipment such as Ross XPression, Click FX, and Evertz DreamCatcher is a plus

Additional details:

This is an in-person internship, reporting to the Manager, ThunderVision. The work schedule requires 26-29 hours per week and includes office hours through late-night video shoots, and game night responsibilities during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location will be the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Physical responsibilities may include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. The work environment involves exposure to loud crowd noise, amplified music, and flashing or strobe lighting during in-arena activities. This internship does not provide housing or transportation. This internship position does not guarantee a full-time position with the Thunder upon completion.
