Job description

Description and Functions Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking to hire a three (3) month position that will assist with fish culture duties, spawning activities, facility maintenance, and grounds keeping at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Tillett Springs Rearing Station. Human Resource Contact: Dezzaree Schott / dezzaree.schott@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. Duties will include but not be limited to tank cleaning, feeding, sample counts, feed calculations, fish inventories, aquaculture equipment maintenance, fish distribution and stocking, helping with Kokanee Salmon spawning operations, and a variety of other fish culture activities

Assisting other hatcheries with routine work and spawning activities as needed. Duties will also include work to maintain the facility grounds, buildings, and equipment not directly tied to aquaculture. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to those who are pursuing a college degree or already have a college degree in fish and wildlife management, science, biology, or natural resource management.

Preference may be given to those who attach a resume and cover letter with their on-line state application. Cover letters should include education and class work related to the position, work experience, career plans, and dates available for employment. **Agency requires that the successful applicant possess a valid driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE: Grounds care (mowing & trimming), small engine maintenance and operation, operating 4WD vehicles, painting, and the use of various hand and power tools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None - See "Preferences" Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, using a variety of tools, and equipment, and some occasional lifting may be required. NOTES: FLSA: Non-exempt The position will run from September 1, 2026 to November 30, 2026.

Housing is provided at no charge to the employee. Applicants should be interested in, and pursuing a career in fisheries, wildlife, or resource management. No previous fish culture experience is required.
