This job is a member of the Flagship Financial Group within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for direct operational and administrative support to our team of financial advisors at American Airlines Credit Union in one of the two functions described below.

What you'll do

​Advisor Support Function:

  • Current and valid Securities license (FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 and appropriate state insurance license with a clean U-4 report) must be currently held or must be attained within twenty-four months of employment. Other licenses may also be required in the future due to changing business needs.
  • Along with other sales assistants on the team, act as a liaison between the financial advisor team and their clients, delivering high levels of administrative and operational support that includes appointment scheduling, paperwork processing and other duties as assigned, while following Credit Union and FINRA guidelines
  • Collaborate within the team to organize, prioritize and execute administrative tasks such as paperwork processing, maintaining client files, prepping marketing materials and compliance logs, and complete department reporting/projects, as assigned
  • Provide high level, quality customer service to internal as well as external business partners and clients
  • Travel to local and regional branches to promote services to Credit Union staff and members
  • Assist in the planning, management and attendance of all seminar/webinar events presented by the Flagship Financial Group (FFG) and any follow-up communication/administrative needs afterwards
  • Registered sales assistants will aid financial advisors in executing trade transactions when the financial advisor is not available
  • Meet all compliance duties as agreed and assigned
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Member Education Support Function:

  • Coordinate with various business units within the Credit Union and Broker Dealer
  • Manage member education projects and events, ensuring presentations, materials, and all collaterals are compliance approved and delivered in a timely manner
  • Manage compliance approvals under competing deadlines
  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
  • Travel to department or Credit Union hosted events held across branch network (in and out of state); some events will necessitate overnight travel
  • Assist with all department needs, as assigned, including those listed within the Advisor Support function
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Professional licensing as described within the Advisor Support and Member Education Support sections above

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an area of study relevant to the position
  • Two or more years of financial services experience
     

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Ability to utilize resources for troubleshooting, to include but not limited to, broker dealer back-office teams, broker dealer website resource center, team collaboration
  • Ability to train fellow sales assistants on current processes
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex or difficult information clearly, concisely, and with sensitivity to the recipient
  • Ability to demonstrate superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to exercise a high degree of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, ownership, member focus, courtesy and professionalism
  • Ability to exercise meticulous attention to detail and well-developed critical thinking skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills, and effectively handle competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed capacity with minimal supervision and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people of varying backgrounds and levels
  • Ability to travel, which may include overnight travel
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
