Join Advanced Bionics as an Engineer, Research and help develop innovative software and firmware solutions for cochlear implant systems and implantable hearing technologies. You will work in a collaborative research environment alongside software developers, DSP engineers, scientists, and clinicians to evaluate emerging technologies and advance the future of hearing healthcare.

Responsibilities

Support the development of firmware and software for cochlear implant systems and other implantable hearing solutions.

Contribute to software codebases using C and C#/.NET under the guidance of senior engineers.

Assist with software verification activities, including unit testing, automated testing, and system testing.

Troubleshoot software and system issues and participate in root-cause analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams using version control and software-development best practices.

Prepare and maintain software requirements, design documentation, engineering records, and test reports.

Support research projects through prototyping, data collection, analysis, and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Learn and apply applicable medical-device quality-system and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate engineering records in accordance with internal quality and regulatory requirements.

More About You

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Completed engineering internship with experience in embedded software development for consumer electronic products.

Strong proficiency in C and C#/.NET.

Understanding of modern software architecture and software-development principles.

Experience contributing to complex, high-quality commercial software products.

Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including code-generation or automation tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Willingness to learn emerging technologies and systems.

Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute ideas that advance team and project goals.

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between $79,200 and $99,000. This role is also bonus eligible.
