Description

Job Title: Foster Care Licensing Supervisor
Location: Wellspring Gaylord
Service Area: Otsego, Crawford, Cheboygan and Alpena counties. 
Reports to: Foster Care Program Manager - Gaylord
Position Type: Full-Time | Salary
 
Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Foster Care Licensing Supervisor to join our foster care team in Gaylord. 
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual supervision and professional leadership to direct service staff, support staff and student interns (as applicable).
  • Ensure overall unit compliance with contracts, licensing, accreditation guidelines, agency policy, procedure and strategic plan, etc. Complete case reviews quarterly.
  • Input data per established guidelines into agency and contractor data collection systems.
  • Handle and coordinate the ongoing personnel issues of the unit; i.e., leave records, training records, participate in the recruitment, interview, reference, and orientation process for new hires.
  • Communicate employee performance expectations, conduct new hire six month evaluations and annual evaluations. Develop performance improvement plans where required.
  • Coordinate the referral and intake process and make appropriate assignments to staff.
  • Monitor, read and approve all required reports, including incident reports.
  • Provide some direct service to clients depending on specific contract language or unit structure.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work or related human services field and 3 years of child welfare experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field and 4 years of child welfare experience (required)
  • Reliable, responsible and committed to compassionate and high-quality work
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to support and guide staff in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Schedule and Compensation
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 / year, based on experience, education and licensure
  • On-Call: Required to support the licensing team's on-call rotation
  • Hybrid: Community travel to support staff - milage reimbursed
  • On-site: Office based with a flexible schedule
