Ready to Jump Start Your Career and Help Drive Scientific Discovery at Zomedica?
At Zomedica, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in veterinary medicine. As an Associate Scientist, you'll be at the forefront of discovery - helping to develop and refine products that change the way veterinarians deliver care. This isn't just a lab role. It's an opportunity to contribute to innovations that impact real lives, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and shape the future of animal health.
As an Associate Scientist, you will support the development of cutting-edge diagnostic solutions for the animal health market. Key to this role will include supporting new assay development, executing standardized bench-level experiments, and assisting with the testing of new technologies and targets.
Responsibilities will include:
  1. Support the development and optimization of immunoassays on the Company's point of care diagnostic platforms, including verification, validation, and transfer to manufacturing activities.
  2. Perform bench level experiments, generate high-quality data, and collaborate with senior scientists to analyze, interpret, and document results.
  3. Assist with validation builds for new products and process changes.
  4. Follow established product development workflows, SOPs, and testing protocols.
  5. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and documentation.
  6. Maintain accurate and complete lab notebooks and records in accordance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  7. Work in a team environment to creatively solve problems and overcome technical challenges.
  8. Participate in cross-functional teams to support the successful launch of new assays.
  9. Participate in general lab maintenance and lab safety.

Job requirements and skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 1+ years of laboratory or life sciences industry experience preferred (internships accepted).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in scientific documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot experiments and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines, and be flexible in responding to changing business demands.

Zomedica offers excellent compensation and incentives, a competitive benefits package with medical insurance, employer-paid dental / vision / disability / life insurance, a 401k plan with a Company match, generous PTO and paid holidays, a collaborative work environment, and great growth potential. Pay range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. Join our team of talent dedicated to advancing care for the pets we love!
