Reporting to the Outpatient Manager of Clinical Administration, you provide direct oversight and support to Counselors, Mental Health Professionals, Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS), and Interns. You play a key part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services and fostering effective program development across our outpatient facilities.  Dual licensure is preferred, along with excitement to travel between program locations.

  • Supervising and mentoring clinical staff

  • Providing direct client care, including assessments, admissions, group facilitation, individual sessions, and case management

Apply today and make a difference where it matters most! ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. 
  • Provide supervision to counseling staff and assistance with case management of clients admitted to the program 
  • Screen and interview clients for appropriateness of admission to program 
  • Demonstrate competency in areas specified under alcohol and drug counselor qualifications 
  • Provide ongoing education and training to all staff members 
  • Review and sign off on all ADC Trainees and interns progress notes, reviews, treatment plans, transfers and service termination documents 
  • Lead weekly supervision meetings 
  • Attend monthly manager’s meetings and keep current on all licensure requirements 
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and daily report 
Required SkillsRequired: 
  • Must have current Minnesota State Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor 
  • Must have three (3) or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder 
  • Must know and understand all rules, regulations, and requirements of the assigned program. 
  • A minimum of two-year freedom from chemical abuse problems. 
  • Must document 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems and chemical abuse of dependency that includes competencies related to philosophy, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, documentation, programming, medication, collaboration, mental health consultation, discharge planning. 
  • On-going training on of cultural awareness and demonstration of sensitivity to various cultural norms and values. 
  • CPR and first aid certified. 
  • Computer literate 
  • Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate abstract concepts in a simple format 
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse of cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. 
  • Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities 
  • Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting 
Physical Requirement  
  • Extended periods of sitting, 80% of time 
  • Occasionally reaching for and lifting client charts, 5 lbs, 10% of time 
  • Heavy data entry on computer, 25% of time 
  • Frequent handling of paperwork, binders, writing
