Requirements
  • MBA or Master's degree with relevant work experience, with an emphasis in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, completion expected between Dec 2027 - June 2028 .
  • Preference for candidates whose field of study provides exposure to finance/capital markets, econometrics, applied mathematics, or whose business experience and knowledge is aligned with the position.
  • Preference for candidates with 1-2 years of prior work experience.
  • Fluent in English.

Portfolio Management
The Portfolio Management Associate is responsible for supporting the development, presentation, and execution of investment strategies across various sectors that are part of our overall investment strategy. The most important function of this role is to maximize return consistent with client objectives . Other functions of this role include:
  • Developing, presenting, and executing thoughtful trading strategies to achieve specific objectives and/or recommend alternative strategies in order to optimize investment performance over the long run.
  • Preparing daily research notes and frequent market updates on news and trading levels.
  • Participating in the development of the firm's short- and long-term financial forecasts, as well as the strategies on which they are based.
  • Supporting account managers by updating existing account base on market conditions, philosophy, process, and performance.
Skills and Characteristics
  • Outstanding analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong quantitative orientation.
  • Experience preparing and working with large data sets; familiarity with SQL and Python is highly valued.
  • Ability to apply finance theory, portfolio theory, and asset allocation techniques in practical settings.
  • Comfortable learning and using programming languages (e.g., Python, Matlab , SAS, C++) for financial analysis.
  • Exposure to econometric methods and time series analysis (e.g., vector auto regression, error correction models, Kalman filtering) is a plus.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
