About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to guide our practice in the heart of Indianapolis. This position is ideal for an experienced Medical Director or an ambitious Associate Veterinarian ready to take the next significant step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the expectations for this position, though they are not exhaustive. The percentages indicate general guidelines and may vary based on the clinic's needs as determined by the Hospital Director.

Veterinary Duties (80-90%)

• Perform responsibilities outlined in the Associate Veterinarian job description.
• Meet specific production goals as established in the hospital's annual planning.
• Maintain veterinary excellence by attending annual continuing education, striving for continuous improvement, and leading innovation within the veterinary team.

Medical Director Duties (10-20%)

• Consistently model medical excellence, setting the standard for high-quality medicine, client service, education, and efficiency.
• Foster excellent relationships with all veterinarians to enhance engagement, retention, skill development, and leadership.
• Oversee the veterinary team, including regular performance discussions, reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions with the veterinary team to support their ongoing development.
• Assist the Practice Manager in creating doctor schedules to meet client needs for convenience and availability.
• Participate in the interview process for associate veterinarians and other staff as needed.
• Attend annual conferences and participate in networking events as appropriate.
• Engage in hospital staff and leadership meetings as necessary.
• Hold monthly meetings with hospital doctors to educate and lead the veterinary team on various topics.
• Promote a culture of teamwork and empowerment among all team members.
• Supervise internship and mentorship programs to ensure a positive experience for students and new graduates.
• Act as an ambassador for the hospital through community engagement.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and DEA regulations in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
• Support the Practice Manager in implementing MVP initiatives at the hospital level.
• Uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of our organization.
