Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction (Dams, Tunnels, Underground)

Oakdale, Minnesota, with project assignments across the Midwest (Travel Required)

$75,000 - $105,000 per year, based on experience

What you'll do:
  • Implement project quality control plans
  • Interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs
  • Develop weekly look-ahead schedules to help the Superintendent stay ahead of project work
  • Field surveying and layout alongside our crews
  • Prepare work plans and schedule material deliveries
  • Maintain project records, including daily reports, photos, and job cost data
  • Support change orders and as-built documentation
  • Learn cost tracking and scheduling from project managers who will train you to run your own work
  • Learn, collaborate, and innovate on each project
Travel

Our projectsoften involvelong-term assignmentsin the Twin Cities metro area andacross the Midwest.Project related travel is typically50-75%.ECI offers competitive traveler benefits for projects away from our Oakdale office.

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 1-2 years of U.S. Based heavy civil experience (internships and co-ops count)
  • Able to read and work from construction drawings
  • Willing and able to work on project sites away from home for extended periods
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship

A plus, not a requirement: dam, hydro, tunnel, or geotechnical project exposure; EIT certification; survey or layout experience; an internship with a heavy civil or underground contractor.
