What You'll Be Doing

Here is a snapshot of what you will do in this role:


- Machine Operation:

Set up, operate, and monitor acrylic cutting machines, ensuring they function correctly.

Load acrylic sheets and materials onto the cutting machines according to production schedules.

Adjust machine settings (such as speed, feed rate, and cutting depth) based on material thickness and design specifications.

- Quality Control:

Inspect acrylic pieces after cutting to ensure they meet quality standards, such as size, shape, and finish.

Perform basic quality checks and measurements using tools like calipers and micrometers.

Report any defects or issues to the supervisor for corrective action.

- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance (e.g., cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts).

Identify machine malfunctions or defects and perform minor troubleshooting or repairs.

Communicate any major issues or breakdowns to the maintenance team.

- Safety and Compliance:

Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials to maintain a safe work environment.

Comply with company policies and procedures concerning quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- Production and Efficiency:

Meet production goals and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Document production data, including quantities, material usage, and machine settings.

Communicate with team members and supervisors about production progress, material needs, and potential delays.

- Collaboration and Communication:

Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and meet deadlines.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding any concerns, delays, or specific job requirements.

- Champion Sustainability:

You will be actively involved in Fab Glass and Mirror's sustainability initiatives. This includes collaborating with colleagues to identify and implement eco-friendly practices within your role and participating in company-wide efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and maximize our social impact. 

Your contributions to these initiatives will be a key part of your performance evaluation.


What You're Expected to Bring to Fab Glass and Mirror

To thrive in this role, you will need:


- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machine operations is a plus.

- Experience: Prior experience operating acrylic cutting machines, or similar machinery preferably within the glass or manufacturing industry. 

Machine Operations: 2 years

Warehouse: 2 years

Picking & Packing: 1 year

- Skills: Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

Strong commitment to quality control and compliance with safety protocols.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to efficiently perform packing and picking tasks with precision and attention to detail.

Physical capability to lift and move heavy materials as required.

- Mindset: A passion for sustainability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
