Job Description:
A medium voltage distribution electrician assembles, evaluates, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus. Troubleshoots and repairs any malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus using the appropriate spare parts, wiring, servicing etc. Advises on management of equipment, appliances, and apparatus. and reviews wiring blueprints, conducts maintenance repairs and rectifies system failures. Operates medium voltage electrical systems and troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus. Inspects electrical systems regularly such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances and identifies faults or hazards. Interprets technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems and diagnoses and troubleshoots faulty wiring. Runs tests on generators, backup systems etc., checks for and deploys upgrades of electrical components, and facilitates order of needed electrical components. Operates and maintains environmentally compliant equipment. Documents and escalate problems to management team. Tests electrical systems with voltmeters, and ohmmeters, and ensures adherence to safety and performance standards. Plays a key role in installing, and preserving the functionality of wires, plugs, panel boards, switchgear, switchboards etc. Responds to fault requests, provides reliability suggestions, and commissions new electrical facilities equipment.
This position operates on a compressed work week, Shift 5 schedule. It is a daytime, front half of the week schedule that goes from AM-PM, Sun - Tues and alternating Wednesdays with hours targeted from about 6am to 6pm each day.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities. Work in heavy personal protective equipment including Level 4 arc flash protection suit outside in high temperatures and lift up to 30lbs and pull 250lbs at least once a day.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of industrial medium voltage experience
  • Three years of general electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Ability to obtain CPR/AED training

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working experience covered by National Electrical Code (NEC70), Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance (NFPA 70B), and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E).
  • Knowledge in reading single-line electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with Electrical metering and testing equipment including multi-meter, Megger, High-Pot, ground fault detector, VLF, and IR camera.xza
  • Recognizing system and equipment deficiencies and take appropriate corrective action.
  • 3+ years of experience with all aspects of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities equipment and systems.
  • Maintenance requirements for industrial electrical facility systems, such as electrical distribution (up to 15kv), switchgear, generators, and variable frequency drives.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $62,090.00-120,110.00 USD (Hourly Role)
