Located in Johnson City, Texas, Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa offers authentic Texan hospitality.  In addition to a premiere winery inspired by a founding family of Texas Wine Country, the Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa features a Restaurant/Brewery along with banquets and other special events to create a blend of dining experiences. SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of responsible and complex technical and administrative duties relating to personnel function and programs.
 DUTIES: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. 
The Human Resources Intern will support the HR Department in daily operations while learning the unique functions of Human Resources within the hospitality industry. Duties and learning opportunities may include:
  •  Assisting with recruitment efforts for hotel, restaurant, winery, spa, and guest service positions 
  •  Coordinating interviews, candidate communication, and onboarding processes 
  •  Supporting new hire orientation and employee training programs 
  •  Learning hospitality scheduling, staffing, and labor management practices 
  •  Assisting with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and resort events 
  •  Maintaining employee records and personnel files with accuracy and confidentiality 
  •  Providing professional customer service to employees and managers regarding HR-related questions 
  •  Assisting with payroll preparation, timekeeping reviews, and HR reporting 
  •  Supporting benefits enrollment communication and employee documentation 
  •  Learning hospitality compliance standards related to wage and hour practices, workplace policies, and employee relations 
  •  Assisting with preparation of job postings, recruitment advertisements, and hiring events 
  •  Gaining exposure to resort operations including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, and Winery departments 
  •  Participating in leadership meetings and operational discussions to better understand hospitality management 
  •  Completing special projects designed to improve employee experience and operational efficiency
JOB KNOWLEDGE
  •  Intention to or current enrollment in a degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field 
  •  High school juniors/seniors, college students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  •  Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred 
  •  Strong communication and organizational skills 
  •  Professional demeanor with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced hospitality environment 
  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly 
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills preferred 
  •  Availability to work onsite during the internship program
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works primarily indoors throughout shift. Bi-level structures.  Extensive facility.  Well lit room. Minimal exposure to hazardous substances and fumes.  
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex date and information. Understand and respond to a diverse population.
