This role serves as a key liaison between Sales and Finance, partnering across teams to support real estate lending activity through financial modeling, pipeline management, and deal-level analytics. The position collaborates with Loan Officers, Credit, Data, and Technology teams to build andย maintainย models and tools thatย provideย clear insight into pricing, structure, cash flows, and profitability. Byย maintainingย a forward-looking pipeline of modeled deals, the role helps refine terms, improve conversion, and support informed decision-making ahead of Preflight and Credit Committee. The role also works cross-functionally to enhance reporting, automation, and platform capabilities that improve transparency and execution.ย
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Credit to build andย maintainย financial models supporting loan pricing and structuringย
- Maintain a forward-looking pipeline of modeled deals, providing visibility into ROE, cash flows, leverage, and key risk driversย
- Act as a bridge between Sales and Finance, translating deal complexity into clear economics and actionable feedbackย
- Analyze pipeline and portfolio trends to recommend pricing, structural, and process improvementsย
- Partnerย with Data and Technology teams to collaboratively build reporting, dashboards, and automation supporting the lending platformย
- The setup and ongoing maintenance of sold loan structures including key attributes for IO strip components, ensuringย accurateย and consistent representation inย PowerBI.ย
- Model complex loan transactions across a variety of client business lines while distilling the complexity into simple, user-friendly tools / reporting that foster clear and transparent client communications, including indicative terms and LOI disclosuresย
- Analyze andย provideย deep insights into rate and fee structures, revenue recognition, forward cash flows / constructionย drawย activity, leverage, loan duration, cost structures, and other components that drive ROE and ROAย
- Create tracking of the loan (and Sponsor) profitability (ROE and ROA) post loan payoff andย compareย toย initialย ROE and ROA expectations.ย
- Assistย in preparing investor and executive-level presentations, highlighting loan performance trends and market opportunitiesย
- Support onboarding andย cross-departmentalย training effortsย and materialsย
- Recommendย automation and process improvements where applicableย
Qualificationsย
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related fieldย
- 0-2 years of experience; internship or coursework in real estate finance or credit analysis a plusย
- Strong Excel skills; comfort with formulas, sensitivity tables, and structured model inputsย
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skillsย
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable asking questions and taking directionย
- Exposure toย PowerBIย or similar reporting tools a plus, notย requiredย
The Pay
Pay range is $85,000 - 100,000 with a discretionary bonus of 15% per year
The Work Environment
- This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
- Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
- Some nights and weekends required.
