The Store Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and profitable store operations, while directing all aspects of the retail business in alignment with company policies and procedures. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facility Management

  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping across store, warehouse, equipment, vehicles, and grounds
  • Provide a clean, safe environment that reflects a positive company image
  • Ensure all equipment is operational

Sales Management

  • Optimize store layout and merchandising to maximize sales and customer flow
  • Align displays with seasonal needs, promotions, and advertising
  • Drive traffic through in-store programs and company promotions
  • Provide ongoing sales training and product knowledge to team members
  • Monitor competitors and adjust pricing strategies as needed
  • Introduce and evaluate new products

Inventory Management

  • Order products in accordance with company policies
  • Manage inventory levels to support turnover and profitability
  • Adjust product mix based on performance and demand
  • Maintain pricing and margins aligned with supplier changes
  • Oversee claims for damaged or returned goods

Accounting Management

  • Approve invoices and ensure accuracy of goods received
  • Maintain control of daily cash and deposits
  • Support store-level financial accountability

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree with 5 years of retail experience (including 3 years in a supervisory role), or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of retail management experience
  • Proven track record leading and developing small retail teams
  • Agriculture background with management experience and strong merchandising skills preferred
  • Working knowledge of lawn & garden, agriculture, and pet/livestock products
  • Positive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Strong customer focus with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment
