Familiarity with productivity tools like Google Workspace, Slack, and project management platforms such as Trello or Asana is commonly expected. Strong communication, problem-solving, and initiative are standout soft skills in this dynamic environment. These abilities help interns contribute effectively to fast-paced teams, adapt to shifting priorities, and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Startups usually have small, agile teams, which means interns often take on important, hands-on responsibilities rather than just observing. You may be tasked with researching competitors, helping improve user experiences, or even contributing ideas during brainstorming sessions.
