Job description

Job Summary:
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, focused on solving complex problems for the U.S. government and industry. They are seeking a Co-op Student in the Test Engineering Division for Fall 2026, where the student will engage in software design, testing, and development for electronic warfare and radar systems, providing a solid foundation for a future career as a software engineer.
Responsibilities:
• Design, code, and debug Windows software, embedded systems software, or web technologies for electronic warfare or radar systems test applications
• Conduct testing of Windows application software, embedded systems software, or web technologies
• Develop software test tools
• Assist with conducting trade studies, writing technical reports, and writing and conducting tests
Qualifications:
Required:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
• Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
• Must be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation
• Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
Preferred:
• Experience in more than 1 programming language
• Automated testing experience
• Ability to perform research independently
• Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
• Configuration management tools
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
