Job description

About the role
As a Senior SDET Lead - Playwright, Selenium & GenAI Testing, you will make an impact by driving quality engineering and test automation initiatives across enterprise applications. You will lead a team of quality engineers, define automation strategies, support release activities, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.
You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions.
In this role, you will:
Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers while promoting quality-first engineering practices.
Design, develop, enhance, and execute automated test frameworks and scripts using Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript.
Drive release testing activities, regression testing, and overall quality governance across Agile delivery cycles.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to define test strategies, improve test coverage, and ensure successful releases.
Support test automation modernization initiatives, framework enhancements, and adoption of AI-enabled testing practices.
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

What you need to have to be considered
10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering roles within Agile environments.
Experience leading and mentoring QA, SDET, or Automation Engineering teams.
Strong hands-on expertise developing and executing automated test scripts using Playwright and Selenium.
Experience customizing and enhancing automation frameworks using Keyword-Driven, Hybrid, or similar architectures.
Strong programming experience using Java and TypeScript.
Experience with release management, regression testing, and end-to-end quality validation activities.
Experience working with LLMs, Amazon Bedrock, or AI-enabled testing solutions.
Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks including JUnit and TestNG, along with build tools such as Maven.
Experience using version control systems such as GitHub.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
These will help you stand out
Experience implementing AI-driven testing strategies and automation accelerators.
Exposure to AI Assurance, GenAI validation, or LLM evaluation techniques.
Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments.
Knowledge of cloud-based testing and modern software delivery practices.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
