Job description

Summary
The selected individual will be responsible for assisting in the completion of various civil-site design tasks including jurisdictional zoning code research and interpretation, site planning/layout, access road design, grading and drainage design, erosion and sediment control, and utility design/coordination. The candidate’s projects will primarily consist of telecommunication, renewable energy, and data center related projects.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Working as part of a team under the direct supervision of a professional engineer, the candidate will be responsible for performing design related tasks generally associated with civil-site engineering discipline, including but not limited to:
  • Completing spatial layout of telecommunication and renewable energy related facilities based on governing municipality zoning requirements
  • Completing and optimizing design of telecommunication facilities from an earthwork, drainage, spatial, construction feasibility, and cost-efficiency perspective
  • Performing design tasks including roadway plan / profile, grading, erosion control, and permitting
  • Providing CAD support for the candidate’s own designs as well as designs of senior staff
  • Coordinating with client representatives, governing agency personnel, and other project stakeholders to determine various design and permitting requirements
  • Coordinating with sub-consultants and intra-company personnel to provide clients with turn-key solutions
  • Attending site meetings with client representatives to assess field conditions and document findings
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Experience with civil-site development projects is required
  • Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD, is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (particularly roadway plan and profile, cross section layout, grading, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the survey field, including office and field survey operations a plus
  • EIT Certification preferred
Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution. Similar experience in the civil-site engineering field of four (4) or greater years will be considered based on Hiring Manager decision.

Travel
Some travel, approximately 10-20%, will be required.
