Job description

MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks a Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our growing behavioral health team in Biddeford. In this dynamic role, you'll serve as the primary psychiatric consultant to the Emergency Department and medical/surgical units, working closely with crisis clinicians, hospitalists, and ED providers to evaluate patients and guide timely, effective behavioral health care. This position offers diverse clinical exposure, academic collaboration, and seamless integration with outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services-including access to ECT, partial hospitalization, and ACT programs. You'll enjoy professional autonomy with the support of a deeply experienced care team-and a coastal location rich with outdoor adventure, community charm, and quality living.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School. Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.

  • Current or eligible license as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.

  • Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.

  • Current DEA Registration Certificate.

  • 3+ years' experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training preferred.

  • Meet other credentialing criteria defined in medical staff by-laws

This position offers:

  • Competitive compensation package including sign-on bonus and relocation assistance to qualified candidates, CME expense reimbursement, and malpractice insurance.

Total compensation packages may include, based on eligibility, recruitment payments, relocation assistance, productivity incentives and quality incentives.

The annual base salary for this position is $300,000.
