Job Description

Job Summary

The Sales Development Representative supports sales effectiveness and revenue growth by providing analytical, operational, and administrative support to Sales Leadership and Account Management teams within the Compressors & Air Tools division. This role is responsible for sales calls, timely customer follow-up, developing reports, presentations, forecasts, and customer insights that inform business decisions, improve planning, and strengthen execution across sales programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, solution-minded, analytical, and comfortable translating data into actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain profile and contracts for sales agencies.
  • Processing and monitoring sales requests for product samples and images, working closely with Product Managers.
  • Assisting Customer Service in resolving order fulfillment issues by consulting with the Sourcing Group and customers.
  • Maintain an active repository for all customer promotional allowances, rebates, and pricing programs.
  • Assist Sales at trade shows, including booth setup, teardown, and representing MAT as a Sales Representative when necessary.
  • Build and maintain customer profiles for major customers.
  • Analyze customer point of sale (POS) data, inventory levels, price points, store counts, and rate of sale.
  • Articulate and present POS observations to multiple levels within the organization
  • Analyzes multiple data points for sales trends, changes, and opportunities.
  • Occasional travel to MAT sites and customer locations, up to 25% annually.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

  • High proficiency in the use of Excel, SAP, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in a clear and organized manner.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
  • The ability to gather facts quickly and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the capacity to plan and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, take initiative, and operate independently when necessary.
  • A commitment to learning and adaptability, with a willingness to embrace change.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of work experience with consumer product companies in sales or sales enablement type roles
